Tsinghua Future Laboratory
In 2021, I worked as an interaction design and research intern at Tsinghua Future Laboratory, joining interdisciplinary projects across smart mobility, virtual commerce, senior-friendly design, and physiological-data interaction. My work covered interface prototyping, user research, experiment execution, and academic research. I helped design a campus autonomous vehicle management system that supported real-time testing and supervision for seven vehicles, and contributed to interaction models for traffic management. I also worked on an Alibaba virtual mall project, supporting the interaction flow, interface, and motion design for consumer experiences in virtual space.
Beyond product and system design, I researched how older adults use smart products, using interviews, observation, and synthesis to identify barriers across age groups. I also joined EEG research on sleep activity, exploring how physiological data could become perceptible interactive art. During the internship, I contributed to two academic papers and supporting research materials, and experienced a complete workflow from problem discovery to user research, interaction design, experiment validation, and research synthesis. It was my first deep experience combining design practice with academic research, and it shaped my later exploration of HCI, immersive interaction, and emerging technology experiences.
